The Internet company Vonage Holdings has announced that it has reached an agreement to end the litigation on patents with Nortel Networks without paying damages. Advertising
The agreement ends after the last case of those with Vonage AT & T, Verizon Communications and Sprint Nextel Corp earlier this year.
This agreement provides for limited crossing of three patents Nortel and three Vonage and makes no mention of any compensation by two companies.
The cause was started from a complaint from Digital Packet Licensing against Nortel in 2004. Vonage had bought the company in 2006 and Nortel had filed a controdenuncia in recent weeks.
The dispute concerned the patents underlying the emergency call numbers "911" and "411" as well as click to call technology.
